I happen to largely agree with you in that today's action (i.e. the buying of futures primarily) is all part of the game. And you hit the nail on the head, when you said this was like poker. No problem, let the buyer beware if the risks of poker game are known by all and the deck is legit.

The reason I started this thread, though, is to bring attention to those that are misusing their position of power. If there are Hedge Funds with clout darting in and out of the Markets, long-shot, long-short, no problem.

But it's the criminal manipulation that gets my main attention. The blatant stuff. The hiring of media working in cahoots with shorters, wild rumors intended to start a panic-selloff, CEO's and CFO's publishing clearly inaccurate accounting, analyst hyping a dog of a stock because they want the investment banking business, and yes, the crap that went on during the Clinton administration to drive the Markets up to ridiculous heights, etc.
