Bill, I believe the answer is simple, today was x dividend day, meaning, the stock will open down approx, the amt. of the dividend it is giving, give or take a few cents.
I checked my portfolio, and they all fell that amt. plus a few more cents. This month was a banner month and you can't blame anybody for taking some money off the table.(I did).

Bill,
I think trust units did well in this market. I have some telus for long term investment and is down to the toilet.BCE and telus suppose to be the widow and orphan stock..probably they expected all widows should get a new friend to take care of them.

unless you have a deep pocket, otherwise trust is a better investment.

I think there will be a real recession, which will reduce O&G demand and Rental properties. As much as I don't like to think it, things are starting to look bad and don't see any real positives in the near term, all negatives except interest rates will stay low.
