>>>Supremes back up the interpretation, that it is not constitutional supported for a school to sanction the pledge of allegiance.<<<

Not so!

...and, BTW this is a nation built under god.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

....what is the established religion "under God"?

Ok....maybe a slippery slope.....but is Under God really that big of an issue? Is this an issue that at this point in time was really worthy of the time and money spent trying to hash this out? It doesn't say which God so it should only irritate atheists. Besides....these people seem to be ok with accepting and spending money.......I think that God dood is mentioned there so he can't be all bad. Hell.......he has a spot on out money.........he must be good

Maybe you're right. I tend to feel it's a minute thing for people to rage against. I think we overanalyze every single thing these days and I'm sick to death of much of it.

I think we have way too much time on our hands and too much loot with which to pursue frivolous causes. I don't think any teacher would say anything to a kid who didn't say the pledge period.. much less utter the word GOd. I just think it's ridiculous. And in most cases I bet you a fiver that a kid who was not allowed to utter the word God would most likely be in a school surrounded by others of his faith so as not to be further corrupted by all us infidels...lol... We have lots of customs that go against lots of religions. <g>

And lastly, I don't consider having God a part of the pledge as sanctioning religion. Does any money change hands when someone pledges allegiance? Does it admit that a God exists? Yes.. and that's all I think it does. And it doesn't say a Christian God or a Muslim God or Zeus etc... oh yes.. and I don't like the precedent it sets ;o).. Precedents are awful boogers that tend to bite you in the Arse at later dates <g>
