what we needed was corporate stimulus in the way of a capex tax break, I think that is fairly obvious now... the $300 individual tax break really didn't help the employment situation much.

I was referring to the time frame in which the plan was formulated. Business demand is currently weak. If consumer demand continues to fall we head back for a double dip of recession. The flexibility in policy for taxes and interest rates is no longer available when they are needed.
