Soros has generally been a smart world market trader, but not always. The fall in the dollar has been widely anticpated by most economists...nothing new. Why did it take him by surprise? So, why the Soros comment? He most likely got burned on an investment( betting against conventional wisdom that the US dollar would fall), or he is trying to "set up" traders on the other side of some trade. My bet is on the latter.

Soros blames "Bush factor" for dollar's fall

What a bunch of bull. A few days before Greenspan's first rate cut. Clinton was on TV announcing: "There's nothing wrong with the economy!"
Meanwhile the Bush administration has been pouring liquidity into the markets at a rate that some on SI think has reached dangerous levels for the health of the government.
We all know about the keeping gold prices down to prop up the dollar. They're trying like haiti to keep gold down. We all know that. And it's still gone up. Result is the dollar going down.
Where do these goof balls get off talking like this? Maybe he's trying to manipulate things to his advantage?
