LOL, they should have ipo'd amtrak during the nasdung heyday, shit was so crazy then that even railway stocks could have made a long awaited comeback to mania status if you spun up the "buy tickets and schedules posted online" angle

Here in the states people are pretty oblivious to how heavily subsidized the automobile is because the subsidies are so ingrained and almost invisible. Then they look at the subsidies we give to mass trans and say it needs to stop. Its a rounding error next to what the taxpayer pays to maintain all the roads and bridges.
