I doubt that the borders of the country would change over this issue. However another argument about losing the country has to do with founding principle. The country is based on its constitution which establishes the right of the citizenry to operate within its borders. The Constitution is founded on some ideals and principles that justify our allegiance to it. Some religeous people are able to do this only because it seems to be in line with the God they worship. If it were seen as in contention with religeous foundations then you would see divisions of loyalty...pretty serious ones.

You're not reading the mail very carefully, Laz. My "not by sitting...." post was in response to your remark that the country has survived a great many things.....

My point was, and is, I believe active response is useful. "Don't tread on me," eh?
