So what do you think about parole for Leslie Van Houten?
Being weak-willed seems a rather strange argument for avoiding the consequences of ones behavior.

When I was young, imprisonment was supposed to be about rehabilitation. People got paroled when they were rehabilitated. It seems like, over time, the rehabilitation notion disappeared when it became clear that it wasn't working. But I don't recall anyone ever announcing the change and there are still some folks who still think rehabilitation is part of the picture.

I know that you're not willing to give up punishment. You've made that clear. You and Neo. So, having abandoned that tack, I'm inquiring how you feel about rehabilitation. If you're into rehabilitation, you'd have to at least seriously consider releasing a prisoner who was clearly no longer a threat to society and could do something constructive with the rest of her life rather than having up pay her room and board, which is what the judge asked the parole board to do.

It doesn't sound like you want any part of rehabilitation, either. Zat so?
