Although I tend to agree that she may no longer be a threat to society, the reason that she only did something horrid once could be because she is in there for life. We will never know, will we?

It would have been fleshed out a little by now had anyone offered any flesh.
We're supposed to flesh out your strawman????
How do we do that when we don't know what your fleshed-out strawman looks like?

In the current model, she's in for life because she did something really, really horrid once.
That's quite sufficient for me, thank you.

You forget the deterrence this can provide: Anyone thinking of repeating anything like her actions has her fate as a bad example.

BUT DIDN'T YOU SAY
Do you really think that your multiple murderer will ever be "no longer a threat?"

<<Do you think she would be a threat to society?>>

In her case I'm guessing society would be more of a threat to her. OTOH remember the paroled Manson girl that took a shot at President Ford?

<<Would you be scared to live down the street from her? >>

No. Then again if they paroled Charley Manson and he moved in next door I wouldn't be afraid either.
