The point behind the original Constitution discussion was to show that the obvious intent of the founding fathers was to remove any discussion of religion from the Federal government. Hence, separation of Church and State (which, more correctly, is separation of Religion and State).

If the founding fathers did indeed intend to create a theocracy, it would have shown up in the original Constitution.
