Nadine, would you happen to know why Ben Eliezer is making such decisions and not Ariel Sharon who is the PM and hence should be the one to be making them. Yesterday the Haartez also reported that Shimon Perez wanted to establish some sort of a contact with the PLO (not Arafat). Ariel Sharon turned that suggestion down but also said that he would not have any objection to go ahead with Shimon's suggestion if Ben Elizer thought it was OK. There is something going on in the ISraeli cabinet, don't you think?
