<< The bible is full of contradictions and absurdities >>

I would be more than happy to address any contradictions or absurdities that you can find. While I am not a Biblical scholar, I am familiar enough with the Book to know that it can stand up under the most intense scrutiny. If I don't know the answer right away, I am willing to research any legitimate concern that you might raise.

<< It also exalts what most people consider to be atrocious values...such as the blessings of incest. >>

I must completely disagree with this comment! The Bible clearly defines right and wrong, and upholds the highest moral standards in the history of man. For example, the Ten Commandments forbid adultery. (Exodus 20:14) Jesus gave further clarification to this:

"But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart." (Matthew 5:28)

Is this not a high moral standard?

What man amongst us is not guilty before God of breaking this commandment?

How do you measure up against this standard?

Regarding incest, Leviticus chapters 18 and 20 clearly forbid this abominable act. In 1 Corinthians 5:1, Paul gives incest as an example of a sin that is so bad that even Gentiles do not practice it!

Paul further states in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10:

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

Incest is an extreme case of fornication and it is an abomination to God!

Where in the world did you get the concept of "the blessings of incest" ???

It is certainly not taught in the Bible that I read!

The Bible is an honest Book. It does not whitewash the sins of the "saints". King David committed adultery and murder. (2 Samuel 11) Abraham didn't trust God enough to be honest about Sarah being his wife. (Genesis 20:2) Moses murdered an Egyptian (Exodus 2:12) and disobeyed God (Numbers 20:12). The Bible clearly shows that we are all sinners in need of a Savior. Even the great men of the Bible fall far short of God's moral standard. (Romans 3:23) Yes, many sins are documented in the Bible, but the Bible is clear on what is good and what is evil. When King David slept with Bathsheba and then had her husband killed, that didn't make adultery and murder good. That showed that King David was a sinner like the rest of us.

I have no idea where you got the idea that the Bible promotes "the blessings of incest", but that is a blasphemous misrepresentation of the character of our Holy God.
