You're aware, are you not, that Chomsky invents quotes and attributes them to people he does not like? Like the quotes he attributed to Eisenhower's National Security Advisor? (I'm still waiting for you to find a source other than Chomsky for that little gem).

On the Thomas Friedman "third world detritus" quote Chomsky has outdone himself in duplicity. He makes it seem like Thomas Friedman said this. But in other Chomsky writing he attributes this statement to Stephen Kinzer in an entirely different context (and I doubt he even has that right):

Times correspondent Stephen Kinzer is offended by the willingness of the Sandinistas "to express solidarity with Palestinians, M-19s, and other Third World detritus" (Joe Klein).

Knowing of Kinzer's work, I tend to doubt Chomsky's libel. Kinzer is a very balanced journalist, often explaining the Arab and Muslim viewpoint, as a recent interview with him shows:

MOSHE DAYAN: UBER-IMPERIALIST, ARIEL SHARON: WAR CRIMINAL

Thomas,

Re: These two quotes leave no questions about Thomas Friedman's loyalties:

Disgustingly racist. And it is so shocking from such a "respected" journalist.

Why doesn't he just come out and say what he really wants to? That he's an imperialist pig who agrees with this insane bullying:

<quote>

......From Israeli Prime Minister Moshe Sharratt's personal diaries, there is an excerpt from May of 1955 in which he quotes Moshe Dayan as follows: "[Israel] must see the sword as the main, if not the only, instrument with which to keep its morale high and to retain its moral tension. Toward this end it may, no - it must - invent dangers, and to do this it must adopt the method of provocation-and-revenge....And above all - let us hope for a new war with the Arab countries, so that we may finally get rid of our troubles and acquire our space." Ouoted in Livia Rokach, "Israel's Sacred Terrorism."

The shocking truth is that Ariel Sharon went up to the Temple Mount 18 months ago in order to do exactly what Dayan specified 50 years ago. To incite a provocation-and-revenge cycle. Sharon is a war criminal and a Hitler. He is a bully and a scoundrel. His only game is to dispossess the rightful owners of the Palestinian lands in order to satisfy the churlish lust of the Israelis to "acquire our space". And they use the absolutely dishonest subterfuge that the "Bible" told them to do it. Lying cheats!
