Corena Establishes Co-Marketing Agreement with Xybernaut

Corena's LifeSTAR Software Coupled With Xybernaut® Wearable Computer Provides Powerful Tool for Field Force Automation in Multiple Industries

FAIRFAX, Va. & SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 2, 2002-- Corena USA Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Danish software company Corena Holding A/S, today announced completion of a co-marketing relationship with Xybernaut Corporation (NASDAQ:XYBR - News).

This collaboration paves the way for the provision of state-of-the-art mobile content management solutions to a variety of industry segments that consider Field Force Automation a primary component of success -- notably aerospace/aviation, military/government and utilities/power management.

Operating in the aerospace market for more than a decade, Corena's existing aerospace/aviation clients include Bombardier, Rolls-Royce, Boeing, Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines, Scandinavia Airline Systems and others. Conservative estimates indicate that more than 13,500 commercial aircraft are in operation worldwide.

As these assets age and as new aircraft are incorporated into flight cycles, inspection and maintenance/repair/overhaul (MRO) are increasingly top priorities for manufacturers and carrier-operators alike.

As such, market analysis indicates that the potential for efficiency-enhancement technologies -- such as the joint Xybernaut/Corena platform -- is considerable.

The Xybernaut/Corena offerings have been developed by combining know-how and products from both Companies to enable organizations and individuals to interact with technical information and physical assets in a more efficient manner.

The platform integrates Corena's LifeSTAR MRO Suite which include XML browsing supported by voice navigation, database programs for graphic and textual content management and Xybernaut wearable computing technologies to provide mobile workers with access to dynamically generated content and real-time data collection capabilities.

"We are excited about our relationship with Corena," stated Edward G. Newman, chairman, president and CEO of Xybernaut. "Whether you are a CEO of an airline or a fleet manager out on the tarmac, the Corena/Xybernaut solutions work within an organizations existing IT infrastructure to provide tangible gains in productivity and return on investment. Our relationship with Corena demonstrates the value of an integrated approach to providing mobile access to information access at the point-of-need."

"Mobile delivery of information is a critical component of success for our business customers," says Keld Jellesen, vice president, Corena Inc. "Xybernaut mobile/wearable technologies extend our LifeSTAR software distribution services by allowing us to deliver structured content right to the workers and managers when and where they need it."

If Nero made his reputation by fiddling while Rome burned, what will future historians say about the fire going on at Xybernaut?
