I'm as worried about religious fanatics as you are. I just read the article you referred to and found that paragraph. If being a liberal means that one supports the UN's resolution 242 and the Oslo accords then I'm a liberal. If it means that Israel occupies land unlawfully then I'm a liberal. If it means that I am against Israeli and Palestinian terrorism then I'm a liberal. If it means that I support Jews for Justice in the Middle East then I'm a liberal. Have you read "The Origins of the Palestine-Israel Conflict" by the group "Jews for Justice in the Middle East"? Have you ever wondered why Israel has no constitution?

And why am I not surprised??? After all, it was Britain who helped chase the Palestinians off their land (yeah I know, there are no Palestinians and it's not their land blah, blah, blah), and now the US is attempting to pick a new Palestinian leader..... Geez, how much are a people supposed to take before they can't take anymore, and don't even care if they don't live anymore! Enough is enough, the Palestinians are human beings also, and have their limits. How much humiliation and degradation are they supposed to take before they blow a collective fuse? I am certainly no liberal, and have no great love for Mr. Arafat, but we have no right to demand his departure if the Palestinian people still wish to have him as their current leader....
