OUT OF CONTROL WAR RACKETS

goldworldnet,

Re: The Dept. of Defense is one of the more important parts of our government. The fact that we are playing catch-up now only underscores the fact that defense was neglected

I utterly disagree. The U.S. is going to spend more than the total expediture of the next twenty nations combined on war in FY 2003. This is insane. We spend grossly too much on war rackets, with the result that we have one of the most unaccountable corrupt rackets in the world running right now under the guise of "defense". It's nothing of the sort. It's the largest fleecing of a civilian population the world has ever endured.

Re: "...The fact that we are playing catch-up now only underscores the fact that defense was neglected during the Clinton years."

>>> Question: who are we 'catching up' to?

>>> Our defense budget under Clinton was already more than those of the next 17 largest national defense budgets in the world combined.

>>> al Qaeda is a very real threat, but I doubt they are worried very much about our $trillion plus Star Wars program... it's not expected to be very effective against Rider trucks or crop dusters.
