About W and the market. Many here have stated that the market is not correlated to the president. Yet I hear market analysts say over and over that stocks are weak because of worries on the economy terrorism profits and the falling dollar.
Terrorism is one that shouts out at me. How's w doing in the war on terrorism? He is losing big time. the nation is terrified and he has made no progress in easing it. In fact he has used this fear for political gain in spite of huge economic losses that have resulted.
The economy? If people had confidence in his policies the fears on the economy would not exist.
The dollar? Big budgets plus tax cuts what would one expect.
Profits? well if the above were not a worry profits would be less of one.
Corporate governance is also raised and we would be more comfortable if wcom and ene weren't such big donors to his party. And hal and harken. His presidency is a failure.
And I think god should be in the pledge and I think abortions are a tragedy. So I don't think I qualify as a liberal.

But you didn't answer my question: Who are we 'catching up to'?

>>> (I'll bet we've long surpassed all the peasant societies.)
