I'm extrapolating about 400,000 new 1x subs for the month of June from the KDDI press release.kddi.com The 1 million subs from Korea is just an estimate. The new sub additions for May and June were around 300,000 but the total handset sales were probably around 1.2 million. My guess is that 1 million of that total were 1x. For example, SKT added 587,000 1x users during May even though total subscribers only went up 246,000. If you look at the 3Gtoday estimate they show 1.4 million new 1x subs in May, so I think I am in the ballpark (they only seem to be counting Japan and Korea right now)).I've looked around but I can't find Sprint or Verizon 1x sales numbers. Do you have any links to those? The 1 million 1x subscribers at the end of Q1 comes from Cooters notes.Message 17334659 - 20% of Q1 adds were 1x. Base is now over 1M. I dont have a source for my estimate for Verizon and Leap. It's just based on the fact that it sounded like Kyocera was doing fairly well with both carriers. Audiovox was also selling handsets with 1x chipsets into both carriers. If you figure Verizon will add 750,000 customers this quarter (this might be high but it sounded like sales were going better than last year), have churn of 2.5% and have internal upgrades of 5% of their base, you end up with total unit sales of 4.5 million during the second quarter. Hopefully, my estimate of 1-1.5 million 1x units isnt too far off. Leap, Telus, Bell Canada, and Telesp should all add some incremental sales as well. Not that any of the above matters right now....amazingly, even though Qualcomm has confirmed that they will at least get the high-end of the guidance (23 cents) the current estimate for the quarter is still 22 cents.biz.yahoo.com Slacker
