I agree with most of what you wrote.

re: "On the deficit for military spending"

I blame him for having spend so much on it yet not having achieved any of the goals like killing or capturing Bin Laden or Omar. This "war on terrorism" is a "wag the dog" phantom fantasy. You can spend all the money in the world and you will never ever defeat the reasons behind what makes certain people do these things. And this has nothing to do with Muslim fundamentalism. Lots of non-muslim countries have been called terrorists before. Including Americans fighting against the British for independence and Zionist for the creation of Israel.

In fact, everything that Bush has done since 9/11 has played right at the hands of what the 9/11 terrorists wanted. And that was to crash the US and its economy. Him spending so much time, money and effort to this "phantom" war on terrorism, and not the US economy, is playing right at the hands of what the terrorists wanted to accomplish. I'm not saying don't go find the people responsible, but Bush has made it a freaking crusade with the "axis of evil" and global war on terrorism. If anything, he made it worse if you look at the situation between Pakistan/India, North/South Korea, Palestine/Israel.

JMHO.

I think Silver will outperform Gold, imo. I am invested in both but I just think the big money will be mad in Silver. I really like CDE as an investment .

MILITARY DECEITS

Hi Jim,

Thanks for your expansive response to the charges of malfeasance and incompetence being hurled against King George. Almost all of the dirt is sticking.

There was one matter that I take exception to in your well-considered discussion.

To wit: " big part of fed deficit is for military response to AlQaeda... "

I absolutely disagree with this characterization. The military response to al Qaeda inclusive of operations in Afghanistan, Guantanemo, Diego Garcia, Yemen and a few other small force deployments has cost at most $20 Billion*** to date from the start of theatre operations last September. As I'm sure you are aware, the War Rackets Dept. budget for FY2002 was about $340 Billion, next year, FY 2003, the budget is going to be $380 Billion. This is an obscene number and it is in no way a reflection of the actual costs involved in the U.S. "military response to al Qaeda".

The Federal budget deficit is projected to be on the order of $150 Billion in FY 2003. It would be incorrect, IMO, to characterize our military response to al Qaeda as a "big part" of the amazing money grab that the brasshats have perpetrated for their pet projects and profits for their cronies in the war profiteering sector.

Salaams, Ray

***Accurate figures are of course a matter of suppressed information withheld from the American people by "secret" classification systems that Bush and the brasshats are so very fond of.
