Hello Michael. You said...." Allen,
Are you suggesting that today, in 2002, Israel should not exist because the reasoning behind the nation's creation wasn't very logical? ".....

IMO many nations were created through the act of war and many of these nations have stood the test of time....Could war be considered logical?

Michael -

Not at all. I was only trying to refute the idea that there's no such thing as "Palestine".

I believe that both Palestine and Israel should exist. The arab nations recently all signed a document endorsing a plan that would actually recognize Israel and acknowledge the Israeli's right to have a homeland.

Personally, I think that might have been the best chance for peace the region has had in a long, long time. Unfortunately, certain extremists wouldn't stop sending idealistic children to their deaths as suicide bombers, and they succeeded in derailing that initiative.

It's a crazy situation, and as far as I'm concerned neither side is right. Both the Israelis and the Palestinians do nothing but talk about the wrongs done by the other side. Until they grow up and realize that the crimes of one do not justify the crimes of the other, there will be no end to the suffering.
