"since Bush took office, he managed to make the whole world more Anti-American than ever before."

ROTFLMAO

Chill sylvester :-| The war on terror is far from over. You will have plenty of opportunities to sling mud as we take out more known terrorists in countries other than Afghanistan. There's going to be a lot more railing from malcontents, arrogant foreigners & left wingers on this very issue.

IMO, I think Bush is doing what needs to be done to protect all Americans from terrorist attacks......... regardless of what any outsiders think...... even those who reside within our borders with their own agendas....... political or otherwise.

FWIW, I must disagree with your, 'I blame Bush for', rant earlier today...... IMO, Jim adequately addressed each issue & I generally concur on each point.

I might add that IMO, Clinton's administration opened the door to 9/11 with their failed foreign policies & their lack of any legitimate response to terrorist attacks while Clinton was in office........ & their slashing of budgets & mismanagement of the direction of the CIA, Justice Dept, etc., making it much easier for a determined foe to strike.......

Clinton & his cronies set the tone for the bending, twisting & the violation of our laws in order to personally benefit....... so CEO's & other greedy sob's found it much easier to justify their dirty deeds that brought us the second biggest bubble in our history.........

Oh & he left the economy spiraling toward a recession just as he left office thanks to 8 years of mismanagement that inflated the bubble to create the perception that he made life better for folks.

BWTHDIK?

What people may not be realizing is that in the past there was the Soviet threat. So western European countries needed the US.

With the downfall of the Soviet Union, there is no real threat to them in Europe. Russia is now really now their ally...and of course the two Germanys got unified.

Even the foreign policy of the Europeans may be more in common with the Russians than the Americans at this point.
I don't believe the europeans see the US as deserving of being the only superpower. Issues such the treatment of "detainees" or "prisoners or war". They probably see the US as doing whatever it wants without regard for international conventions.
The reality is that they see the US as a country with lower moral standards.

Bush's new trade barriers has not won him any friends anywhere in the world. He made a calculation that it will help the Republicans this fall...I would call it a miscalculation.

All this fuels the anti-American sentiment.
The world has changed and it is not just because of 9-11.

Does this matter economically....over time it could.
