"that is exactly what I am saying and the EIA data proves this to be true. "

How much drilling has been done in the Artic National Wildlife Reservation? Almost none, but we have a decent estimate of how much oil lies beneath it..... Don't you see, oil companies no longer run around with drilling rigs to find oil...they find promising locations without drilling and do it rather cheaply. Getting it into production is a different story. But your concept of proven reserves confounds me....to think that all it would take is to raise the price of oil to suddenly make this country competitive in total oil reserves with the ME is just amazing. And all you EIA data proves is that the US found 2B more barrels in 2000....a mere drop in the bucket literally. Find a few hundred billion barrels and maybe you have an argument, but until then you really don't understand what the term "vast reserves" means.... The major message is simply that the US is rapidly running out of oil, potential or otherwise.
