Truth. Now there is the rub. Lots of people think truth involves not teaching evolution, and other things I consider rather important. So while some parents would undoubtedly be advocating for some position I would consider rational, I think most wouldn't. The people who are most upset by education espouse agendas I find infinitely worse than what we have now. Since squeaky wheels get the grease it is hard for me to be very excited about change when I know what the people want who are most insistent for it.
