Truth. Now there is the rub. Lots of people think truth involves not teaching evolution, and other things I consider rather important. So while some parents would undoubtedly be advocating for some position I would consider rational, I think most wouldn't.

The people who are most upset by education espouse agendas I find infinitely worse than what we have now. Since squeaky wheels get the grease it is hard for me to be very excited about change when I know what the people want who are most insistent for it.

Parents aren't going to educate their own children. Most parents can't even read to their children every night, as it is- not even for 1/2 hour.
