Pilger has been writing the same anti-American crap for twenty years. He's still pissed off that we won the cold war. So why's it big news that he still hates us?

He is getting an audience. Key papers are willing to publish in their papers. For someone reading it over there, you can see what these types of opinions can do over a longer period of time...people can be influenced quite easily...especially now as they have no Soviet Union to fear.
This is a UK newspaper we are talking about, the closest European ally for the US.

If the current US political views on the environment, international criminal courts etc...remains, you can bet they will feel the most threatened by the US. What country does the EU consider its rival? Chinese? Russians? I don't think so. You can ask the same question of the Chinese.
The answer is the same.

I am just looking out a few years. World is not static. The collapse of the Soviet empire is going to change things in the world...and all we are seeing are the early stages of this. The US is going to get isolated in the world and it seems inevitable to me.

The socialist media can plants ideas in the readers' minds over in Europe...just as the right wing media does it in the US (pro government reporting unless of course the subject is a president's personal life <g>
----for example..Bush getting attacked over stock sales).
