So analyst Joe Blow owns 4,000 shares of XYZ;
or maybe he owns nothing at all. If he fails
to touch base with management before changing
his rating, he WILL loose his job. Meanwhile,
his employer is short 500,000 shares. Guess
what he is gonna say? - or maybe I am just
too darn suspicious, right?

SEC would have us believe that the analyst's
holdings are all we should care about. If there
is no disclosure of his employer's holdings,
it just don't matter, 99 percent of the time.

A little more obfuscation, courtesy of the SEC
is what we got here.

JMHO,
