If it's that onerous to you, why not turn your dismay against the public school establishment that brought us to this point? Referring to our earlier exchange about public school teachers, I believe those teachers with obvious "rough edges" have harmed the system (and students) far less than policy makers with doctorates in education and social "sciences." FWIW, I attended a Catholic high school. About 15 percent of the students were not Catholic. They were not treated as different and no attempt was made to convert them. All of us were expected to reflect certain values.
