Not a bit - In spite of patriotic outpourings since 9/11, songs like "God Bless America" have not been universal hits. You may recall the ACLU suit in the Sacramento area. It was in all the papers. The press writes what passes for news. Freedom of the press has nothing to do with editing, dumbing down, revising or neutering history. Legislating from the bench IS trashing the constitution. Do you see any irony in the fact that the very people who are demanding a literal reading of the constitution in the "under God" matter are the same people who are horrified when strict constitutionalists are nominated to sit on high courts. You seem to be ridiculing Christians - or, some Christians. I haven't seen a corresponding personal denigration of atheist views in these discussions. There has, of course, been widespread condemnation of the litigant who wanted everything his way.
