Noel ok, I did not track it far enough and now I tracked it fairly far to post: Message 17671872 after that you or someone else said that "under God" is a product of cold war and GZ said the following Message 17681196 here is how I read GZ's interpretation of the "under God" - there is separation of church and state as far as freedom of religion in US. There could be no complete separation of church and state because of D. of I. Words "under God" are more symbolic than religious. The only way you can completely separate church and state if you destroy D. of I. Personally, I am not religious and I see no problem with the wording. A good example of symbolism or traditions is Christmas. While it is a Christian religious holiday much of the ritual of the celebration was adopted from one of the pagan celebrations. So maybe you missed GZs point. Or maybe GZ can correct me if I misinterpreted him. BTW since you mentioned that you changed your opinion about Palestinians I wonder if you can tell me from what to what? -Albert
