Sounds a lot like "The Zone". I also don't buy into
eating Atkins style from the same reasons.

In terms of fruit consumption, the zoners claim that
cave men did consume fruits but it wasn't as sweet as
the "engneered" stuff we are eating today plus it
was scarce.
