And what does it have to do with Congress?

Because the "under God" was added by an act of congress in 1954.

Why don't WE start respecting what our Constitution actually SAYS ???

The obvious answer is that the Founders sought ONLY to prevent the new U. S. government from establishing the functional equivalent of the hated Anglican church in the U.S. The clause has been badly interpreted and bad law has come from those interpretations.....
