Amazon.com wouldn't comment on reports last week that it planned to launch an apparel store on its site before the holidays.

While the company was silent, this entry was posted on its Web site's job page: "Director, Apparel ... Amazon.com is looking for an industry leader to lead the development of the apparel initiative at Amazon.com."
