Hi Jim; The amount of disk storage must be huge. SI does purge inactive threads but you can retrieve messages that are several years old. I hope I'm not letting the cat out of the bag but what percentage of members are paying for the service? And its just not SI, we get a lot of free information from the web. I hate to say it, but we all will eventually have to pay more for the service. The death spiral decline in telecom and network stocks attest to this fact. The promise of fiber optic has come to a halt because the cost structure needs a complete overhaul. Its a catch 22, companies cannot invest in new equipment that would enhance our web experience because most have negative cash flow. They are fighting to survive.
