Reminds me of the service companies (barbers, restaurants) which charged the same amount in euro as before in DM after the currency switch at the turn of the year (1 euro = 1.95583 DM).

Anyone want to venture an opinion of why the trade data for last month show import prices unchanged while the dollar lost 10%?

Because the exporting countries need the U.S. business more than we need their products.

It could be billing is not in time sync with price but it looks more like imports have been fluctuating. It could be partially due to the state of our own economy which is not nearly as robust as was.
