Just reported by CNBC:

Sidgmore just told the WSJ that BK for WCOM is becoming harder and harder to avoid.

RDB:

One VERY good reason for WCOM to avoid BK is to keep their contracts with the U.S. Government. A BK filing MAY result in WCOM being declared non-responsible and possible termination of some or all of their contracts with the Gov.
Earlier this year Global Crossing was excluded from consideration for some contract(s) for that very reason.
