I took total cover

Nice move. I guess I've got my core. I'll add some back if we ramp hard enough.

I had just gotten home when I made my last post. Now I see what Dell has done. It doesn't look like much to get excited about. It's a true gift from the shorting gods.

17:06 ET DELL Dell Computer guides higher for Q2 (23.93 +0.26)
Sees Q2 earnings of $0.19 per share vs the current Multex consensus estimate of $0.18 per share; sees Q2 revs of $8.2 bln vs the current consensus estimate for revs of $8.2 bln -- company says it "believes it is continuing to gain market share in the midst of weak overall demand."

It will be Christmas in July for would-be shorters like myself.

looks like the crooks are going to take full advantage of this last time for little white lies....

i believe august 14th the new law goes into effect....tell the truth...sign on the dotted line.....you lie....you go to jail....something like that....

anyway....i suppose big money will be dumping hand over fist on this ramp.....and getting out of everything they can before the truth bug hits.....

i can't wait to see how much of this good news here turns into warnings in one month......

anyways....making my list now for the last death ramp of many soon to be cut in half cinderella's......

then it's time to go enjoy summer and come back at 1200....<gg>

I expected an nice pop from which I took total cover. Looks like Dell will deliver it tomorrow. It will be Christmas in July for would-be shorters like myself.

Just found out why Nasdaq was much stronger than the Dow all day (at least one reason). CNN Moneyline reporter mentioned that there were all kinds of rumors that some tech company will have positive news after the bell.
I guess it was Dell---but 1 cent and 100million in additional revenue does not seem like great news to me...could that be a big disappointment versus what was probably expected??
The market might have anticipated this just from the way the Naz was so strong during the day...even while Dow was down about 200 points.

So my question: Would you short an early pop or later in the day? After hours it looks somewhat like Cisco news back in May..pushing QQQs to max pain. This time around QQQs don't have far to go (26). Will be interesting to see ig the futures gains increase (maybe double) by morning same as in May.

This time the Csco ramp is fresh in peoples' mind..but they also know Nasdaq went a lot lower afterwards...and that it was nothing more than a great selling or short selling opportunity back then.

thanks
