I see Barton Biggs in a new light, his coming out with buy buy in public press release on Thursday, tells me when Barton is buried he pulls out all tricks to get his name to get him out of a hole.
Biggs, being the Chief TRADING strategist at MSDW had MSDW load the boat on techs at between 1450 and 1500(on a trade basis, looking for a 30% move), and on getting caught with it going the wrong way; he then became Barton Biggs "bull on the loose", trying to save his butt. His argument of where else can you get better returns but in equities he takes from his notebook "things Abby Joe Cohen would say in this, i am buried, situation".:) Max

That's just a BIT of an overstatement. Do we all need new 2gHz PIVs or Athalons? Nope. For most people, even businesses trying to make the latest MS sludge run acceptably, a PIII 800 is just fine.

that is absurd. Real progress in modeling complex problems (which lead to major technological advances) is not accomplished with 233 MHz computers.
