EZ is hurting under the stronger EUR but their finance ministers are eager to have the EUR as a reserve currency and trying forcefully to bring it at par to the USD.

What they are missing is that Portugal. Spain, Italy, Greece etc. are not Germany when it comes to reliability. It is beyond me why the world tries to compare the EUR to the DM after all the EUR was a bad deal for Germany but a sweet deal for the rest of Europe.
