Indexing every word of every message is an expensive proposition

Amen!

Oops. I was curious about something and just did a search on "to the moon" and it returned posts that had all 3 words. Hopefully you're not indexing words like "to" and "the". I filter out words like that and will likely filter out more of them eventually to shrink that index.

John,

If I could chime in and address another problem, I would like to state at how annoying the pop up ads have been recently. It drives me nuts to have an ad pop up every time I read a messege unless I keep the ad on my screen and I read a LOT of messeges. Frankly, I never click on those ads anyway and it only takes up valuable space on my monitor which is much better used for trading. Some of those ads even get in the way when I am trying to click on another screen and the pop up gets in front.

I would really like to see those ads disappear. They're a hindrance in trading and a large part of the SI community consists of traders.

Thanks,,
Velociraptor

Sorry to join the lynch mob, and I do wish people stay on SI and this exodus seems premature, but I have my $0.02 worth to comment on this.

What you say might be true, but I also notice many sites, some in collaboration with Google (or its competitor search engines) area able to do that (the "Powered by <blah>" brand).

Maybe guys have a small team and lack the expertise, by all means outsource. Or whatever it is that others sites do.

It seems, from a user perspective, other sites are able to do that without giving us the "its too hard, its too expensive" mantra.

Please fix the options in the quote section. Please bring back the PROFILE, and INDUSTRY GROUP buttons ? They are useful. They were until they were removed.

Oh yea. No Pop-Ups, and NO banners with audio. I want to listen to my MP3's not "Black Hawk Down" adverts every time I bring up a chart, or check a company profile.

Thanks.
