You had quoted someone who mentioned Mc Carthyism as "testing" people's loyalty to this country (although in one way I suppose it did- if you can still believe in the promise of America even with events like Mc Carthyism maybe you pass the test? It is a different sort of test though.) I didn't mean to suggest you supported any such thing. Sorry about that. I just didn't want to let that quote stand, because there doesn't appear to be any historical evidence that those hearings exposed anything but the kind of xenophobic group think that aggregates of humans are prone to, time after time.
