Perhaps, but I'm not sure an ex-crooked CEO, with a book-cooking past (he was on the audit committee at Harken), who was caught insider trading, lied about it, then got caught messing up the cover-up, is the perfect man for the times, either.

Why do you (collectively) persist in putting forth these kinds of statements as though they were fact? In your sentence you made the following allegations:

1) Bush was involved in inappropriate accounting;
2) Bush was engaged in insider trading;
3) Bush lied;
4) Bush was caught in a "cover-up", thus obstructing justice.

Now, you know and I know that NOT ONE of these allegations is supported by any facts whatsoever. When I refer to Paul Begala as a liar, these are the very kinds of statements I'm referring to.

Doesn't that, in reality, make YOU a liar? How can YOU call someone a liar after making these statements above? There is no credible allegation that any of these is true.

Dan, I'm not about to defend Bush's insider sale of Harken.

Yet I doubt Bush has much to gain from defending crooked CEOs, even now. That's why I trust Bush more than the Democrats, who want nothing more than to destroy trust in corporate America and replace it with trust in liberal bureaucracy.

As for McCain ... well, maybe.

By the way, Dan, excellent post you made on the Mod thread:

A strong relationship with a strong OEM could help, too. This, even at the expense of short-term market share or profit, would be a step in the right direction for the long-term survivability of AMD.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether AMD is capable of taking this direction, even if they wanted to. But I do believe that had AMD taken this direction years ago, they'd be surviving this storm a lot better than they are now.

Maybe it's time for McCain?

No.
