my perusal of the press shows two moods - one is that many who have lost savings are coming to grips with the fact that those savings are gone. But it still looks like a deer in the headlights kind of reaction, like they still can't figure out what happened with the boom and bust - the anger will probably sink in eventually.

the other vein is that it's still best to ride it out - don't sell at the bottom, etc.

'87 wrecked it for everybody. Before that, if you had a crash - you expected a depression. After '87, people assume that you can have a crash and then you can have a boom.

Regarding reaper's recent post,

Myth, you and I go back a little ways, certainly not far enough for a slam-dunk favour, but long enough that I might prevail upon you to keep this reaper fellow over here with the other hardcore thugs. I believe his post this evening, while it makes a good deal of sense, comes dangerously close to taunting the bull; the evil side of the bull -- the Rubin side. Please have a little talk with this eloquent, but hopelessly bearish person. -g
