Great Rant Reaper- ROFL

"those self-indulgent, added nothing to mankind boomers are comparing THIS to the GREAT DEPRESSION? with their 10k ft^2 McMansion and two sun-blocking Expeditions in the garage (w/ room to spare), well-watered lawn (in a desert, of course), and kids for whom they paid for 6 years at Berkely 'cause they just couldn't manage to graduate in 4. so i guess when the S&P gets to AA's target of 400 +/- they will comparing it to the black death??

Maybe with the S&P at 400 the boomers will take the 25 cents on the dollar that they have left and buy a &^%$ing clue."

Excellent

LOL. You are a bad seed, I can see that. -g

Imagine, just in case we do get the bear for 6-12 more years and S&P 400 or worse, how would one ever explain the sort of excess we still see, to the folks 20 years from now? How?

I would add to your newspaper stories, that the column one story in the Sunday LA Times was also a "market at the crossroads" story (written by Tom Petruno who I actually think is a relatively balanced voice). Same gist: this decline could hurt the economy, but lots of people think we're nearly over.

By then a clue will cost 50 cents because of the bidding wars and so they will use their 25 cents, and take 25 cents from you at gunpoint, and buy a clue. Of course, the process will be portrayed as an action of bold selflessness and generational caring, just like everything else the boomers do. There will need to be a self-conscious defining movie about it, devoid of any irony, in the vein of The Graduate, Looking for Mr. Goodbar, St. Elmo's Fire, Kramer vs. Kramer, Baby Boom, etc. Gen-Xers will complain, but then, they always complain, right?
