What makes you think that? Powell would be a fine VP and a fine President. He has one quality that makes him a prime candidate for the job, too: He doesn't want it. I would vote for him, for either job. Of course, I'm not really hard core. That's the stuff at the center. core, n. 1. the central or inner part of anything. hardcore, a. the firm, unyielding, unchanging, or central part or group Webster's New Twentieth Century Dictionary unabridged. GW-Powell makes sense, but I doubt the hardcore right will allow it.
