It's the desperate political shot being taken by the Democrats, after both the Republicans and the public in general looked to them to ally in an effort to take care of yet another national emergency, that the voters will remember in November.

They can't fabricate enough votes to overcome the resentment they are building. November's going to be fun to watch...
