Tom- Don't flatten the buildings, and the Jews would last a bit longer.

Would that it were so. Groups throughout the Moslem world in the Middle East have made it very clear they seek the extermination of Israel and Jews. And these are not notably fringe elements of their societies. Their press and mass media- heavily government controlled- routinely spews forth the most ugly, false invective inciting murderous intent- and they are pretty successful at it. As just one of hundreds of examples, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem issued a statement last year calling on Moslems to kill Jews anywhere in the world. These are not responses to specific buildings being "flattened"- they are part of a war of extermination that so far only one side seems to be fighting with that end in mind. For decades the Israelis have been engaged in a sustained counterattack aimed at preventing future attacks on their population. I frankly doubt any other nation would have exerted more restraint in response to continual attacks.

The history of Intifada II makes it clear what a mendacious argument you make. When the PA saw that it would not get all that it sought through negotiations with the Barak government, it quite consciously unleased the "forces of jihad" to murder Israelis and destroy their society. They manifestly did not do so in response to any buildings that were "flattened". After a year and a half of armed conflict against civilians, Arafat then announced he would "accept" the agreement that Barak had offered, knowing full well of course that the window for acceptance was long gone.

There is no symmetry here, and your attempt to present it in that light is simply an example of The Big Lie. The fact is, if Arabs cease their attacks and preparations for attacks on Israelis, a peace of sorts- or at least an absence of armed conflict- will prevail in the region. Arabs have made it quite clear the reverse is not the case, and history such as I cited hear clearly shows that to be the case. In fact, if the Israelis were to cease their military action, it would almost certainly be interpreted as weakness which would invite further attacks (arguably, pulling out of Lebanon encouraged Palestinians to think they could get what they wanted by force of arms).

I had not quite made up my mind about you until I read the post to which I am responding. However, I now realize you are simply a lying propagandist who serves as an apologist for mass murder. I can only wonder if you do that routinely, or if you simply make a special case when the victims are Jews.
