Listen, I'm not a big fan of Greenspan, but at the same time I don't mainly blame him for how stupid everyone was during the dot.com buildup. He didn't cause the total disregard for sanity by analysts, investors, and especially venture capitalists. What he did do a bad job of was paying way too much attention to inflation a couple years back. He waited way too long to reduce rates. That combined with the dot.com bursting and the beginning of a realization that valuation should matter, was deadly. The Feds and a lot of other folks should have kept the bubble from forming in the first place, but it was us that bought into it.

The Markets have always returned to reasonable valuation levels and everybody should have realized that.
