<<Yes, Goldman went to *no opinion* because the SEC is going back for the third time to look for accounting irregularities.>>
The news report I read said that Goldman cited a July 2 request by Congress for info on the closed SEC investigation of two years ago along with info on several other companies. Shouldn't be any big deal. So why is Goldman using this as an excuse to hang a very good client out to dry? This is very very strange and disturbing to me. Goldman went to a "not rated" rating, same as they have for Adelphia. And so soon aftere the CIT iPO which gets Tyco out of the woods. If Goldman knows something, they sure kept qiuet until they made their money but have to be guilty of a number of violations. If they know nothing, this action seems almost inexplicable.
