But if I recall, there were some people who worked for the big guy(one lady whose name I can't remember) who gave sufficient warning for one to get out of the market. I did not document this but I do remember thinking that she was very sharp. Not everyone else agreed with her nor were her comments written in red alert letters, but there was a lot of concern in her posts and she said to start taking money off the table despite the big coach at that time being in a "neutral" position. She spoke of the nasdaq bp sinking and giving a sell signal and then there was some discussion about signals in which there was a diversion, but she called it really. Even some of Dorsey's comments could be interpreted that way, although I think he was so confident that the big coach would never give a wrong signal, it was difficult for him to say otherwise, even though you could tell he was concerned. To communicate his disconnect between the reality of the marketplace(which he knew in his gut was doing something unusual) and his total reliance on the indicator which never before in the history of the stockmarket ever gave a false signal, he did begin to hedge and urge some caution. I did not follow that thread after April of 2000 so I don't know what developed and what was discussed there. I believe that D&W made a decision to no longer post here. I expect that decision was made because of the heat they probably got for not being 100% right. Right or wrong, they were closer to calling it than anyone else around in my view. And if they were in fact chased off, I think it was due to unfair criticism. I always appreciated Tom's view of things and I think he deserves another chance from this community to post his views and to talk about Piffin'. I learned a great deal from TD and wish he would return. I just think he probably decided it wasn't worth it to constantly be harangued by skeptics. We should give him a break. No one at SI has been right all of the time, and probably not even most of the time. HT
