Yes, AJ, our founders believed in a Creator.

We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights ...

It is pure sophistry to contrive arguments purporting to "prove" that when many of these men sat down a decade later to write the Constitution, they wished to banish any acknowledgment of a Creator. What a remarkable change of heart!

Those who value logic and rationality should see that the "Establishment clause" was clearly meant to prevent a law being enacted by Congress to establish an official religion for the U.S. ... and that the founders had nothing more in mind than that.

If people want to base arguments on subsequent court decisions that expanded upon this intent, that is a different matter. We can -- and will -- continue to debate the wisdom of such later interpretations and modifications..

"The act of creation assumes the role of a creator and perhaps God does prefer some over others"
