I suspected something like that was going on. Also, I read somewhere that it was done so that Greenspan can at least show his face to Congress on Tuesday! :-)

It is clear that the so-called summer rally is coming and going in dribs and drabs. There is no way a swing trader can capitalize on that, IMO. I think the traditionally weak months of September and October will see all the major indexes making new lows.

I also think we might see a rally of 20% to 30% (depending on how low we get) from the coming lows, and going into the next year. Then, the bear takes over and we go lower, maybe even to a lower low... again. Rinse and repeat for the next several years.
